When the drive’s own microcode fails, the data is intact — but invisible.
Every drive runs internal firmware. When its service areas corrupt — translator faults on hard drives, controller failures on SSDs — the drive may identify wrongly, show zero capacity, or not respond at all, even though the data surface is untouched.
Using specialised hardware tools, we repair or rebuild firmware structures and regain access to the data without opening the drive.
Typical symptoms: drive detected with wrong model/size, stuck at busy, or clicking once then spinning idle. Do not run recovery software on such drives.
